About Patti

 

Patti's Preschool in Huntington Beach is directed and owned by Patti Young. Ms. Young received her Early Childhood Education Certificate from Orange Coast College, Costa Mesa, California, in 1975. In 1979 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, with honors, and a major in Child Development.

 

Patti Young has also studied preschool and child care techniques in Finland and Sweden. She has worked with children in early childhood settings since 1972 and is an active member in the Orange County Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Patti is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Early Childhood Education Program at Orange Coast College. Patti's Preschool has offered quality child care in Huntington Beach since 1980.

 

Ms. Young is a “hands-on” Director who is actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the preschool and Stepping Up to Kindergarten programs. Communicating with parents on a regular basis (either verbally or by email) is important to her. Posting photos of special events on the school’s Facebook page is another priority. Parents frequently mention how much they enjoy seeing photos of their children involved in an educational activity.  Ms. Young takes pride in getting to know all of her students and she especially looks forward to visits from her former students who share their current successes with her.
