Patti's Preschool Newsletter, July 2016

We’re starting off the month of July with Western Day on July 5 with lots of games and playground activities including pony rides. Please have your child wear western clothing to school that day. We are offering every child a chance to participate in pony pictures with Whatever Little Pony on July 7 and 8. A photographer will be here to take photos of the children on a real live pony! (Siblings are welcome. Please make arrangements at the front desk.) Photos will be sold at school – no obligation! Starting July 11, our theme is Children’s Literature and our guests will be storytellers Rebecca Martin and Miss Mary-Pat. The following week, our theme is Music Appreciation and our guests will be children’s singers Kevin Avocadoseed and Dan Crow. We’ll finish the month learning about Insects, Spiders, and Reptiles. We can’t wait to see Thor’s Reptile Family and Sean from Education Through Nature.

Parents, please let us know if you are planning a vacation this summer and leave the dates at the front desk. Our program runs more efficiently if we have an accurate head count each day!

Celebrating birthdays this month are Kendall, Jaden, River, Harper, Lily, Kingston, and Kayden. Our new teacher, Gianna, is also celebrating her birthday. We hope everyone has a memorable day!

Ms. Aisling in Room 1 is celebrating her 3rd year anniversary at Patti’s Preschool this month! We love Ms. Aisling because of her friendly, gentle personality. She’s the perfect teacher for our youngest students!

We will be closed on Monday, July 4th.

We hope you have a happy and safe holiday!

We would like to welcome our new students and families. We look forward to getting to know you! We always strive to make this an easy transition for you and your family. Please feel free to pick up a free copy of our brochure, “So Many Goodbyes.” It offers useful suggestions to help make the transition from home to preschool easier on children and parents.

Our teachers will be taking their annual vacations over the summer months. Someone from our regular staff or one of our qualified substitutes will cover for them while they are gone. Your child’s teacher will notify you and your child in advance.

Fall registration sign-up forms will go home Monday, July 11 and must be returned no later than Friday, July 15, to reserve a space for your child! We cannot guarantee a spot if the signed sheet is not returned by that date.

We would like to thank Lena and Gabe Gordon for treating our staff to a delicious lunch from their restaurant, Beachwood BBQ. Many thanks to Betty and Josh Yang who prepared a mouth-watering meal for us on Teacher Prep Day. We are grateful to Angela Liaw who surprised us with Starbuck’s coffee on the same day. Suzanne and Richard Truong went out of their way design and print our beautiful new brochures. They also made a template for our staff nametags. Thank you, Suzanne and Richard! Many thanks to the Young family for their donation of toys and to the Morita family for their donation of books. The Williams family brought in musical instruments, perfect for our music appreciation week this month! We have the most generous, thoughtful parents at Patti’s Preschool!

We are delighted to welcome two new employees to our Patti’s Preschool staff. Amy Prieto will be working in the front with Ms. Caroline. Gianna DiGiovanni is assisting Ms. Aisling in the morning and teaching an afternoon class. Welcome, Amy and Gianna!
