Patti's Preschool Newsletter, August 2020
Our theme for the first week of August is “Around the World.” We will be learning about different cultures through books, music, food, and art. The following week our theme is “Under the Sea.” Our staff will provide engaging activities about the ocean and sea life. On August 17, we will start our “Western Week” projects. We can’t wait to get some tips from Ms. Megan about horseback riding. We want to hear all about her famous horse, Chaps. Yee haw! During the week of August 24, we’ll focus on the “Prehistoric World.” Everyone loves learning about dinosaurs!
Goofy Week is the last week of August and we will start off the fun with Silly Hat Day on August 31. Get creative and dress up for Wacky Wednesday. Anything goes – the wackier, the better! To celebrate the last day of summer camp, bring out the hair dye and gel for Crazy Hair Day. We made lots of memories this summer and are excited to start our fall session!
Celebrating birthdays this month are Owen, Elijah, Avery, Natalie, Quinn, Nash, and Delilah. Ms. Tanya and Ms. Pam (9/4) are also celebrating birthdays. We hope everyone has a very special day!
The last day of our summer session is Thursday, September 3. We will be closed on Friday, September 4 for Teacher Prep Day in order to get ready for our fall session which begins on Tuesday, September 8. (We will also be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day.) Your child may be moving to a new class that day. Class assignments will be posted in front of the school on Monday, August 31.
We want to announce Ms. Monique’s well-deserved retirement on July 31 after 29 years of teaching at Patti’s. Ms. Monique has touched so many young lives by helping her students grow and learn. We know she is looking forward to spending time with her new grandson along with her entire family. Everyone at Patti’s wishes her all the best. Ms. Monique will be sorely missed by all!
Ms. Annie will be celebrating her 31st year of teaching at our school on September 5. This is truly a remarkable achievement and we are impressed with Ms. Annie’s commitment to teaching. She has been an essential part of our school’s success. When former students come back to visit, each one asks to see Ms. Annie!
Our beloved kitchen supervisor, Ms. Celeste, is celebrating her 11th year of working at Patti’s on August 31. Ms. Celeste runs circles around the rest of us and we feel lucky to work with her. What a great role model!
We want to thank Michelle and Greg Twogood for donating the wonderful puzzles. They are in perfect condition with all the pieces. We’ll look forward to using them! We appreciate the flash cards and workbooks that Vicki Tsay and Bryan Arthur gave us. They can be used in our pre-kindergarten classes. We are grateful for our thoughtful parents!
