Patti's Preschool Newsletter, August 2024
We’re starting off the month with Western Week. This theme is something we look forward to all year! Pony rides along with exciting western games and activities will take place on the playground on August 8. We encourage your child to wear western attire that day. Yee Haw!
Under the Sea will be our theme during the week of August 12. Preschool is the perfect time to stress the importance of conserving our ocean life! On August 14, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will be bringing some fascinating live sea creatures in touch tanks. We can’t wait to see the puppet show about the “Adventures of C. Weed the Snail” and explore the assortment of hands-on sea life specimens.
We can’t wait for Hawaiian Day on Wednesday, August 21. We’ll be filled with the Aloha spirit when the Kona Shaved Ice truck parks in front of our school. Be sure to send your child wearing tropical clothing that day!
Goofy Week is the last week of August and we will start off the silliness with Silly Hat Day on August 26. Next on August 27 we’ll have Crazy Hair Day and on August 28 will be a Wacky Wednesday. Lastly, on Thursday, August 29 we’re having Pajama Day (last day of summer camp). It has been a fun-filled summer at Patti’s Preschool!
Celebrating birthdays this month are Jack, Brock, Jackson, Leo, Venice, Elliot, Jace, Emery, August P., Dylan, Alfred, and Beckham. We hope everyone has a very special day!
Ms. Betty is celebrating her 1-year work anniversary this month! We are so thankful for her willingness to lend a helping hand in all classrooms! This summer has been a blast with Ms. Betty teaching in Room 6!
The last day of our summer session is Thursday, August 29. We will be closed on Friday, August 30 for Teacher Prep Day in order to get ready for our fall session which begins on Tuesday, September 3. Your child may be moving to a new class that day. (We will be closed on Monday, September 2, for Labor Day). Class assignments will be posted in front of the school on Monday, August 26.
Many thanks to Kendall and JJ Baccari for their donation of extra clothes! Our younger classrooms will make great use of those for potty accidents and messy projects! We are very grateful to Taylor and Giancarlo Spolidoro for their donation of water tables! They have been a fun addition to our playground this summer! The sidewalk chalk and clay donations from Amy and John Guzman were used throughout the school! Room 6 loved the rock and mineral set with magnifying glasses from Laura and Weston Zellmer! Please let the front office know if you are doing summer cleaning at home and would like to donate items to the school!
