We’re starting off the month with Western Week. This theme is something we look forward to all year! Pony rides will take place on the playground on August 4 followed by exciting western games and activities on August 5. We encourage your child to wear western attire those days. Yee Haw!

Under the Sea and Ocean Adventures will be our theme during the week of August 11. Preschool is the perfect time to stress the importance of conserving our ocean life! On August 14, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will be bringing some fascinating live sea creatures in touch tanks. We can’t wait to see the puppet show about the “Adventures of C. Weed the Snail” and explore the assortment of hands-on sea life specimens.

We are so excited for Hawaiian Day on Tuesday, August 19. We’ll be filled with the Aloha spirit when the Kona Shaved Ice truck parks in front of our school. Be sure to send your child wearing tropical clothing that day!

Goofy Week is the last week of August and we will start off the silliness with Silly Hat Day on August 25.  Next on August 26 we’ll have Crazy Hair Day and on August 27 will be a Wacky Wednesday. Lastly, on Thursday, August 28 we’re having Pajama Day (last day of summer camp). It has been a fun-filled summer at Patti’s Preschool!

The last day of our summer session is Thursday, August 28.  We will be closed on Friday, August 29 for Teacher Prep Day in order to get ready for our fall session which begins on Tuesday, September 2.  Your child may be moving to a new class that day.      (We will be closed on Monday, September 1, for Labor Day). Class assignments will be posted in front of the school on Monday, August 25.

Many thanks to Amy and John Guzman for their donation of books, play food, and dramatic play supplies! It was perfect for our playground! We are very grateful to Rosie and Tom Chioles for their donation of craft supplies! Teachers love trying new art projects in their classrooms! The board books and instrument donations from Michelle and Jared Boucher were used throughout the school! Room 1 has loved exploring the magnet toy donation from Kathleen and Arron Percoco! Please let the front office know if you are doing summer cleaning at home and would like to donate items to the school! We are always in need of extra clothes donations, especially pants!
