Patti's Preschool Newsletter, December 2024
Our December theme is Nursery Rhymes and Mother Goose. This is an appealing and instructive theme that prepares children for kindergarten. Participating and playing with sounds of language (rhymes/syllables) is an important pre-reading skill. Watch for “Hey Diddle, Diddle” and “Jack Be Nimble” projects. The children will also learn about winter holidays and cultural traditions. Your child’s teacher would be interested in learning how your family celebrates at home so your traditions can be shared at school!
Scholastic book orders are due on Friday morning, December 13. You can easily order online using our class code GW3RF!
Celebrating birthdays this month are Oliver N., Madison, Logan C., Emmanuel, Isabella, Harper, Noelle, and Julian. Three of our staff members – Patti, Asha, and Susan are also celebrating. It will be a fun birthday month!
Ms. Catherine is celebrating her 8-year anniversary of teaching at Patti’s Preschool! We are grateful for her hard work and dedication! Her positive energy brightens up the school!
We appreciate the thoughtful, generous parents who brought desserts and paper products for our Thanksgiving feast. The children enjoyed their special treats!
Please remember to tell Sandy, Megan, or your child’s teacher if your child will be absent for an extended period of time during the month of December or January. Thank you!
We would like to thank the Chelsey and Kyle Crouse for their donation of board books! Our teachers claimed those for their classrooms right away!
Remember to pick up a flyer to purchase tickets to The Nutcracker! Ballet Etudes will be performing at the Huntington Beach High School theater December 7, 8, and 15. We were honored to have their dance company perform just for us! The children loved the fancy costumes and spectacular dancing.
During the week of December 9, classrooms 2 through 6 will be hosting Holiday Crafts with Parents! We hope you can swing by to work on a 30-minute activity with your child! RSVP lists will be posted in your child’s classroom. Please check ClassDojo for specific details.
Our staff will be wearing Holiday Sweaters on December 20. You are welcome to join in on the festivities! We are especially looking forward to having pajama days on December 23 and 24. Children may wear their pajamas to school on those days!
Please remember that we will be closing at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 24, in order for staff to spend extra time with family. School will be closed for winter break from December 25 through January 1. (Tuition is not charged for the week of December 23). Our winter session will start on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Happy holidays from all of us at Patti’s Preschool!
