Patti's Preschool Newsletter, February 2020
Our theme this month is Transportation and Community Helpers. The children will be learning about different ways to travel. Some of their projects will include painting with toy cars, making transportation collages, and matching/sorting/counting colored cars and trucks. Community helpers and their jobs will also be discussed this month.
Our Stepping Up class will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday, January 31st and Shining Stars will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Wednesday, February 5. The teachers have planned many fun activities such as decorating hats with 100 dots, decorating with 100 stickers, doing 100 exercises, and staying quiet for 100 seconds!
Book orders are due Friday morning, February 14th. Please make your check payable to Patti’s Preschool. You may also order books online. Our class code is GW3RF. Please see the front office for more information!
Parent/teacher conferences for Sandy’s class will be held during the week of February 10. Conferences for Tanya’s class are scheduled for the week of February 18. Conferences for all classes will continue through the end of April. Our annual calendar lists all of the conference dates. (Please check our website www.pattispreschool.com)
Conferences are not mandatory. If you are interested in meeting with your child’s teacher, please remember to sign up in the classroom for a convenient time. We can also arrange for a phone conference if that is easier for you!
The children will be exchanging valentines on Friday, February 14. Please send valentines for your child’s classmates (not the entire school). Please check with your child’s teacher regarding special activities planned for that day. Wish lists for party items will be posted in the classrooms. We appreciate any donations! An open invitation is extended to all our students. Parents of children who normally don’t attend school on Friday will need to stay in the classroom with their child.
Celebrating birthdays this month are Teagan, Isaac, Sam, Franklin, Hudson S., Colette, Eve, Van, and Piper. One of our teachers, Ms. Sandy, is also celebrating this month! Happy birthday to all!
Our Stepping Up teacher, Lee Ann is celebrating her 8 year anniversary this month. We appreciate all of her hard work and dedication!
We had an influx of donations this past month! We would like to thank the Bukrinsky family for their donation of newspaper and the Cianciarulo family for their donation of glue. School supplies are always helpful! We would also love to thank the Twogood family for the princess castle and the Halley family for the outdoor playhouse. Our students have been enjoying these items so much and it is always so wonderful to introduce new items out on our yard!
Please remember to turn in your summer enrollment form! Once we have received all the forms we will be able to start placing our students in classes. Our summer camp is loads of fun because of the variety of educational guests who come to school. We can’t wait for Thor’s Reptile Family, pony rides, and Mad Science workshops among others!
We hope you’ve been able to meet our two new administrative assistants, Alexa Mackenzie and Megan Gray. They are both working hard to get to know our families and the front office routine. It can be an overwhelming amount of work but Alexa and Megan are eager to learn and always make an effort to go that extra mile. We are sadly anticipating Ms. Allison going on her maternity leave (tentatively end of February) but are excited to see her welcome her new baby girl to the world!
School is closed Monday, February 17th, in celebration of Presidents’ Day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe long weekend.
