Patti's Preschool Newsletter, February 2026

Our theme this month is Transportation and Community Helpers. The children will be learning about different ways to travel.  Some of their projects will include painting with toy cars, making transportation collages, and matching, sorting, counting colored cars and trucksCommunity helpers and their jobs will also be discussed this month. We are looking forward to celebrating the contributions and achievements of African Americans during Black History Month. February will be a busy month!


Celebrating birthdays this month are Rowan, Nikola, Ramzi, Isabel L., Isabelle T., and Londyn. Two of our teachers, Ms. Gianna and Ms. Ty, along with our Assistant Director, Ms. Sandy, are also celebrating this month! Happy birthday to all!


Our administrative assistant, Ms. Jennifer, is celebrating her 4-year anniversary this monthHer years of experience at Patti’s make her well qualified to help run the school!


Book orders are due Friday morning, February 6thYou may order books online through the Scholastic website! Our class code is GW3RF. Please see the front office for more information!



Our Stepping Up class along with Rooms 3 and 5 will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Monday, February 2nd. The teachers have planned many fun activities such as decorating with 100 stickers, counting 100 food items to make a special snack, completing 100 exercises, and staying quiet for 100 seconds!


Dr. Beanca Children’s Dentistry will be visiting our school on Wednesday, February 4 to teach students the importance of proper dental care! Your child will be excited to take home their special goody bags and practice their new skills!


Kindergarten registration for the Huntington Beach City School District will open on Friday, February 13, at 9am. To find your home school, go to the HBCSD website for more information


The children will be exchanging valentines on Friday, February 13.   Please send valentines for your child’s classmates (not the entire school). Check with your child’s teacher regarding special activities planned for that day.  Wish lists for party items will be posted on ClassDojo. We appreciate any donations!


We are incredibly grateful to the Castillo family for their generous donation of a new easel for the school! This thoughtful contribution will support creativity and learning for many years to come! We would also like to thank the Fraser family for the blocks and number matching toy, the Boucher family the dress-up clothes and toys, and the Adams Family for the Bluey plane playset. Your thoughtfulness helps strengthen our program and brings joy to the classrooms!


On Wednesday, February 25th and Thursday, February 26th, Patti’s Preschool will be participating in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign sponsored by the Children & Families Commission of Orange County’s Early Literacy Program.  We will be bringing national awareness to the importance of promoting literacy in early childhood education. Parents, we’d love to have you come and to read See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater to your child’s class. Sign-up sheets will be posted in each classroom. By getting involved, you will help us break the world record for the largest shared reading experience ever!  For more information on Read for the Record, please click here.


Parent/teacher conferences for Ms. Ty’s class will be held during the week of February 2. Conferences for Ms. Tammy, Ms. Catherine and Ms. Lauren will follow. Conferences for all remaining classes will continue through the end of March. Our annual calendar lists all of the conference dates. (Please check our website) Conferences are not mandatory. If you are interested in meeting with your child’s teacher over the phone, please remember to sign up in the classroom or on ClassDojo for a convenient time. 


School is closed Monday, February 16th, in celebration of Presidents’ Day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe long weekend.
