Patti's Preschool Newsletter, January 2022

Our January theme is Health, Safety, and Nutrition. We will focus on school safety rules, nutritious foods, and ways to stay healthy. Lesson plans will include cooking projects, safety sign pictures, and nutritious food collages. Our teachers have also incorporated movement games and activities to keep our students moving each day. Besides enhancing brain development, promoting active play is a good way to keep our kids healthy. Your child may come home and tell you all about participating in Alphabet Yoga or playing Mark the Spot! We will also learn about the winter season so watch for some fun winter projects to come home!

Book orders are due Friday morning, January 14. You may order online at Scholastic Book Clubs using our class code GW3RF. Our school receives free books with each parent order so thank you for participating.

Celebrating birthdays this month are Curren, Penelope, Annabella, Kataleiah, Ella, Cameron, Haven, Isla G., Leo, Scarlett, Liam W., and Bryce. We hope our students have a fun day celebrating their birthdays!

Two of our incredible staff members, Celeste Plummer and Catherine Garay are also celebrating their birthdays. Happy birthday to all our friends!

Your tuition statement for the 2021 school year will be emailed during the week of January 24th. Please save this form for your income taxes.

Our administrative assistant, Ms. Megan, will be celebrating her two-year work anniversary on January 2, 2022. We won’t be at school to celebrate her special day so we hope you thank Megan for her friendly spirit and hard work before we close for our holiday break.

We would like to thank all the parents who went the extra mile to pick up their children early last month so our staff could take our CPR refresher course. It always provides an extra layer of comfort when we have a review. Many thanks to Lisa and Ryan Diaz for donating gently used toys that we will put to good use. The yummy doughnuts from Bobbi Jo and Oliver Chi disappeared quickly! We sincerely appreciate the colorful area rug and fun memory game from Nicole Barber and Alex Ramirez. We are also grateful to all the parents who sent in generous holiday gifts for staff. You made our holiday season a joyful one!

CONFERENCES BEGIN NEXT MONTH!

Parent/teacher phone conferences for Ms. Tanya’s and Ms. Shondra’s class will be held during the week of February 7. Conferences for Ms. Cathy’s class will take place starting on February 15. Ms. Annie will contact her children’s parents during the week of March 7. Conferences for all classes will continue through the week. Please check our annual calendar on our school website if you want to know the scheduled week for your child’s conferences. We will send home your child’s evaluation prior to the conference week. If you would like to speak to your child’s teacher, sign-up sheets will be posted in the classrooms. Conferences are optional, not mandatory.

Summer enrollment forms will go home on January 10 and are due on Friday, January 14. Please drop off your completed form at the front desk or email a copy to school. Thank you!

We will be closed on Monday, January 17, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
