Patti's Preschool Newsletter, January 2023

Our January theme is Health, Safety, and Nutrition. We will focus on school safety rules, nutritious foods, and ways to stay healthy. Lesson plans will include cooking projects, safety sign pictures, and nutritious food collages. Our teachers have also incorporated movement games and activities to keep our students moving each day. Besides enhancing brain development, promoting active play is a good way to keep our kids healthy. Your child may come home and tell you all about participating in Alphabet Yoga or playing Mark the Spot! We will also learn about the winter season so watch for some fun winter projects to come home!

Book orders are due Friday morning, January 13. You may order online at Scholastic Book Clubs using our class code GW3RF. Our school receives free books with each parent order so thank you for participating.

Celebrating birthdays this month are Penelope F., Cameron, Graham, Chase, Bjorn, Aaron, Nixon, Emmett, and Liam W. We hope our students have a fun day celebrating their birthdays!

Three of our amazing staff members, Megan A., Catherine G., and Celeste, are also celebrating their birthdays. Happy birthday to all our friends!

Your tuition statement for the 2022 school year will be emailed during the week of January 30th. Please save this form for your income taxes.

Our administrative assistant, Ms. Megan B., will be celebrating her three-year work anniversary on January 2nd. Ms. Tammy is celebrating her one-year anniversary on January 21st. We encourage you to thank our dedicated, conscientious employees for their commitment to our students and families.

The entire school thoroughly enjoyed the performance by professional entertainer Marc Griffiths! This special event was a treat from Sheva and Brandon Fiege, Ettie’s parents. We sincerely appreciate their warm-hearted gesture!

Our staff feasted for two days on a delicious lunch from Buca di Beppo, courtesy of Christina and Jason Curnyn. The mouthwatering salads and pastas were piled high on our plates. Thank you, Curnyns, for the thoughtful treat!

We are also grateful for all the generous parents who sent in holiday gifts for staff. You spoiled us!

CONFERENCES BEGIN NEXT MONTH!

Parent/teacher phone conferences for Ms. Jennifer’s and Ms. Katherine’s class will be held during the week of February 6. Conferences for Ms. Pam’s class will take place starting on February 13. Ms. Susan will contact her children’s parents during the week of February 21. Conferences for all classes will continue through the month of April. Please check our annual calendar on our school website if you want to know the scheduled week for your child’s conferences. We will send home your child’s evaluation prior to the conference week. If you would like to schedule a phone conference with your child’s teacher, sign-up sheets will be posted in the classrooms. Conferences are optional, not mandatory.
