Patti's Preschool Newsletter, June 2023

Summer camp is just around the corner (starting Monday, June 26) and we’re looking forward to lots of fun activities and special guests. We have finalized our summer themes so take a look at all the exciting events we have planned. We have several educational guests booked to tie in with our weekly themes!

We want to finish off the school year by celebrating with pizza lunches for our students in Room 3, 5, and 6 on June 7 and 8. For our younger students, we’re planning some surprise activities before summer camp starts. Look for an update on ClassDojo!

Scholastic book orders are due on June 9. This will be our last book order for the school year and we’ll offer them again starting next September. Go to www.scholastic.com to place your order. Our class code is GW3RF. Please see the front office for more information! We receive points for classroom supplies with every order!

Celebrating birthdays this month are August, Rylee Z., Cole, Madilyn, Valentina, Blaze, Nicole, Ellie, Aden, Zoey, Sofia Ru., Theo, EmmyLou, Madison Ng., Adilyn, Lucia L., Cristiano, Ettie, Madison Na., and Penelope W. We hope everyone has a very special day!

Many thanks to Leah and Oscar Rodriguez for donating a doll house that is bringing lots of joy to our 3-year-olds in Room 2. It’s perfect for pretend play! Now that summer camp is around the corner, we are looking forward to updating our classrooms with the alphabet borders that Sherry and Tim Beck-D’Zmura donated. Thank you for thinking of us!

Our Stepping Up to Kindergarten graduation ceremony (Room 3) will be on Thursday, June 1, at 1:00pm, on the playground. Our students have been busy practicing for this big day!

Thank you to all our generous parents who brought in breakfast treats, flowers, cards, and special gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week. We also received some new classroom furniture and a playground game from a thoughtful family, We are so grateful for your kind, considerate gestures. Our staff definitely felt loved and appreciated!

Two staff members are celebrating their work anniversaries this month. Please congratulate Ms. Sue (5 years) and Ms. Leicy (2 years). Both teachers are an important part of our team and we feel lucky to have them at Patti’s Preschool!

We will be closed on Friday, June 23, for Teacher Prep Day. We are going to be busy getting ready for our summer session which begins on Monday, June 26. Your child may be moving to a new classroom on that day. Our summer rosters will be posted in front of the school on Thursday, June 15.

We are looking forward to a concert with famous children’s singer, Dan Crow, on Wednesday, June 21. He is best known for performing the theme song ("Walk Outside") of the movie, “The Adventures of Milo and Otis,” but also composed many Disney songs, most significantly for Welcome to Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus. Dan has been entertaining children at Patti’s Preschool since the 80’s and we feel honored that he continues to sing for us!

School will be closed on Monday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth National Holiday.

We love our Patti’s Preschool dads so we’d like to wish all of you a very happy Father’s Day!
