Patti's Preschool Newsletter, May 2024

This month our theme is “Children’s Literature.”  We will be reading a variety of books and telling flannel board stories each day. To expand on our literature, we will be centering activities around the theme of each book or story.  This will provide many experiences in language development, fine motor skills, math and science, music and dramatic play.  We will also be working on special projects for Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. 

Celebrating birthdays this month are KJ, Savannah, Helena, Rex, Autumn, Matilde, Liliana, Farrah, and Nicole. We hope everyone has a wonderful birthday! Our amazing administrative assistant, Ms. Megan, is also celebrating her birthday this month. Help us wish them a very happy birthday!

Our caring pre-k teacher, Ms. Susan, will be celebrating her 8-year anniversary this month! She is a dedicated and passionate educator who we feel lucky to have at Patti’s Preschool!

Every order you place helps us earn free books and other resources for our classrooms! Thank you for your continued support!

The week of May 6 is Teacher Appreciation Week.  A special note or flowers would be a nice way to express your gratitude to your child’s teacher! Feel free to check out our Staff Wishlist at the front desk. Our staff is committed to providing the best child care and we strive to prepare each child for a successful school career. We hope you will take a moment to thank our staff.

Mother’s Day is May 12!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful mothers at our school! 

Grad Photos will be taken on May 7 and 8. Our pre-k graduates from Room 3, 5, and 6 will have professional photos taken and parents will receive a link to view and purchase pics. An email was sent out with more information. We are looking forward to celebrating year-end activities in June.

Our Stepping Up to Kindergarten (Room 3) graduation ceremony will be on Thursday, May 30, at 1:00pm, on the playground. Our students have been busy practicing for this big day!

We would like to thank the Zellmer family and the Miller-Wilson family for their continuous donation of scratch paper! Our students love to draw! Thank you for supporting their creativity!

A very special thank you to Rose and Jeff Kunze for the many delicious and nutritious snacks they brought for our staff! The snacks lasted us all month and was the perfect pick me up to have in our break room! Thank you for giving us an energy boost all month long!

Upcoming Holiday in June!

Please mark your clendar that school will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, to celebrate Juneteenth National Independence Day. We will also be closed for Teacher Prep Day on Friday, June 21, so staff can get their classrooms ready for the first day of summer camp which will begin on Monday, June 24. Summer rosters will be posted in the front of the school on Friday, June 14.

We are looking forward to all the educational guests coming this summer. Thor’s Reptile Family, Bubblemania, SoCal Drum Party, Kona Shaved Ice, Pony Rides and  a Dinosaur Party are already booked!
