This month our theme is “Children’s Literature.” We will be reading a variety of books and telling flannel board stories each day. To expand on our literature, we will be centering activities around the theme of each book or story. This will provide many experiences in language development, fine motor skills, math and science, music and dramatic play. We will also be working on special projects for Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.
Celebrating birthdays this month are Grace, Michael, Winnie, and Autumn. Ms. Amy is also celebrating her birthday this month! Help us wish them all a very happy birthday!
Book orders are due on Friday morning, May 8. Please make sure to place your orders online at https://orders.scholastic.com/GW3RF. Every order you place helps us earn free books and other resources for our classrooms!

The week of May 4 is Teacher Appreciation Week. A special note or flowers would be a nice way to express your gratitude to your child’s teacher! Feel free to check out our Staff Wishlist at the front desk. Our staff is committed to providing the best child care and we strive to prepare each child for a successful school career. We hope you will take a moment to thank our staff.
We are incredibly grateful to the Moder Family for their generous donation of a brand-new set of Flower Connectors—perfect for the spring season! We would also like to extend our thanks to the Guzman Family for their thoughtful donation of number mats, pool noodles, extra clothes, classroom decor, and books. Our students are always excited to explore new stories! A special thank you as well to the Zellmer Family for their donation of glue sticks, which are always in high demand for classroom projects. Last but certainly not least, we sincerely appreciate the Kennedy Family for providing magic erasers, which are always so helpful in keeping our classroom clean and welcoming!
Mother’s Day is May 10!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful mothers at our school!

Our Stepping Up to Kindergarten (Room 6) graduation ceremony will be on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 1:00pm, on the playground. Our Shining Stars (Room 3) graduation ceremony will be on Wednesday, June 10th, at 1:00pm. The students have been busy practicing for this big day!
We’re excited to announce that we will be hosting our “I’m Moving Up” picnics during the first two weeks of June! Each classroom will have a designated day when parents are invited to join their child for a special picnic on our playground. The picnic will take place during our regular lunchtime, from 12:00–12:30 PM. Parents are asked to bring their own lunch. Teachers will share additional details, including your class’s scheduled day, through ClassDojo. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone together!
