Patti's Preschool Newsletter, November 2024

Our November theme is All About Families.  Our lesson plans will include finger plays, songs, books, and flannel board stories about families.  The children will be making family trees, special family books, and family graphs. Thanksgiving is also part of our November theme so watch for some fun Thanksgiving Day projects.

Scholastic book orders are due Friday morning, November 8th.  Ordering online is easy using our class code: GW3RF – just ask Sandy or Megan at the front desk. We receive free books for the school with every parent order placed. Thanks for ordering!

Celebrating birthdays this month are Areni, Chloe, Brielle, Hendrix, Banks, Holly, Oliver A., River, and Kennedy! We hope everyone has a fun time celebrating!

Our Halloween party was a smashing hit this year! We sincerely appreciated the thoughtful donations from our super parents for the Halloween festivities. Everything on our wish lists was provided which made our event fun and memorable. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and participated! You made it extra special for everyone.

We are looking forward to our Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday, November 26th and Wednesday, November 27th. We are asking parents to send a dessert or paper products (plates, napkins) for the feast. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the classrooms. Please send a lunch for your child if he/she doesn’t participate in our hot lunch program.

We will be closed November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving. Please let Sandy or Megan know if your child will be absent during Thanksgiving week. We would like to know by November 15th.

We were delighted with  the wonderful response to our Read for the Record campaign to promote early literacy. We’d like to thank our terrific readers – Sergej Kramer, Alex Adams, Mike Jones, Sandra Martinez, Colbert Krong, Jacqueline Luther, Allison Walsh, Jamie Perreault and Laura Zellmer.

The youth   ballet   company, Ballet Etudes, from the Huntington Academy of Dance will be at school on Thursday, November 14th at 10am. We’re so excited to have a performance and small demonstration of The Nutcracker for the entire school! We always enjoy the dancers and our students love the costumes! It is a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit! We’ll send home brochures for their upcoming performances in HB.

We are so grateful for the many donations we received last month. Many thanks to Amy and John Guzman for their donation of extra clothes and a large crayon set for the entire school! The scratch paper and clay from Laura and Weston Zellmer really came in handy! We also appreciate the assortment of toys donated by Minji and John Moon! Thank you all for thinking of us!
