Our October themes are Our Five Senses and Halloween. The children will be learning about sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. They will be making texture collages, tasting different foods, going on observation walks, and learning new songs about listening. We will also be planning lots of fun Halloween projects like carving pumpkins and making pumpkin seed pictures.
Scholastic book orders are due Friday morning, October 10. You may order online using our class code GW3RF. Your book purchases help us add free books to our school library!
Celebrating birthdays this month are Alexander W., Edison, Charlotte, Luka, Lea, Penny, and Liv. Our substitute teacher, Ms. Maggie is also celebrating this month! We hope everyone enjoys their special day!
Patti’s Preschool will participate in the Great California ShakeOut on October 16 at 10:16am. We are joining millions of Californians in the state’s largest earthquake drill ever! We are practicing “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” with all our students before the big day.

Thank you all for joining us in celebrating the school’s 45th anniversary! Your presence made the festivities even more special for Patti! We are so grateful for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We hope you enjoyed the coffee from Java on the Go, and that your child had a great time with the special pizza lunches! It was a joy to mark this milestone together with both former and current students and families! Here’s to many more years of learning, growth, and shared memories!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
School will be closing at 12:30pm on Wednesday, November 5. We have scheduled a first aid/CPR class so all of our staff can renew their certificates. This is something we do every two years and we appreciate your support!

Our annual Halloween party will be on Friday, October 31, from 9:00-11:30AM. We will have many fun activities on the playground and the children may wear costumes. If your child doesn’t normally attend school on Friday, please feel free to bring him/her. We will need you to stay during the party so we can comply with the state mandated teacher-children ratio. Since this is a school-wide event, we are unable to allow siblings or other relatives. If you’d like to send something for your child’s classmates, we recommend a goody bag with stickers, small toys, pencils or crayons, and wrapped candy (please avoid homemade goods and make sure treats do not contain nuts.) We can also use some items for our party and would appreciate any donations. Wish lists will be posted on ClassDojo. Hope to see you there!
Thank you, Laura and Weston Zellmer for donating books and scratch paper! Our students love to explore new books and the scratch paper comes in handy for creative free drawing! We are also very grateful to Sam and Vic Nguyen for their donation of glue sticks, colored pencils, crayons, and construction paper and to Renee and Al Tierney for their donation of Legos, kinetic sand, dinosaurs, and more! These were passed out all around the school! We appreciate our wonderful families!
