Patti's Preschool Newsletter, September 2023

Our theme this month is Getting Acquainted and Self Esteem. We will be talking about our families, our friends and our school. Sharing, cooperation, and expressing our feelings will also be emphasized this month. We will review school rules to give everyone a fresh start. September is a great month for making new friends!

Scholastic Books are back! If you’d like to order books online, go to orders.scholastic.com/GW3RF and create an account. See front office staff for more information. We appreciate your book orders because we are able to add free books to our school library with each order!

We’re having School Spirit Days this month (check our calendar). Your child may wear a preschool t-shirt that day. If you’d like to purchase a shirt, they are available at the front desk for $10.00 each.

Images 4 Kids will be here to take school photos on September 18 and 19 in the morning. You will be able to purchase individual photos along with a classroom photo montage. We will let you know in advance which day your child will be photographed. Please take a look at their website – images4kids.com

Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Patti will be hosting our Back to School Night for our Stepping Up class on Thursday, September 21, from 5:00 to 5:30pm. We will be providing an overview of the curriculum and reviewing our goals for the year. There will be a brief period for Q&A as well. We will be able to offer child care (for enrolled children only) since we are open until 5:30. Please contact the school if you have any questions. Hope you are able to attend!

Three of our staff members are celebrating their anniversaries this month! Congratulations and thank you to Ms. Annie (34 years), Ms. Pam (31 years), and Ms. Shondra (2 years). Please remember to thank and congratulate our hard-working, dedicated staff!

Celebrating birthdays this month are Allove, Haven, Lucia, Mila, Kensley, Wesley, and Zayn. Three staff members, Ms. Pam, Ms. Sue, and Ms. Rowana, are also having birthdays in September. We hope everyone has a memorable birthday!

It’s never too late to sign up for the fresh organic vegetable and fruit delivery from Tanaka Farms. We receive the boxes every Tuesday morning. Visit tanakafarms.com/sign-up/ for more information!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

School will be closing at 12:30pm on Friday, October 27. We have scheduled a first aid/CPR class so all of our staff can renew their certificates. This is something we do every two years and we appreciate your support!

We want to welcome Taryn Thayer and Betty Espinoza to our staff! Ms. Taryn has worked at La Petite and she will be teaching with Ms. Asha in our potty-training class in Room 1. Ms. Betty comes to us after working several years at Coastline Christian School. She will be giving breaks throughout the day to staff. Ms. Betty will also supervise her own group of children at the end of the day. We are very pleased to have them join our team!
